
1. Pay your tithes and offerings or support your favorite charities. It will make the communities we live in better and will bless our lives.
2. Pay for all of your needs before spending on wants. "Wear it out, Use it up, Make it do or Do without.”
3. Make a monthly budget and live on it. Plan for the unexpected and emergencies.
4. Get out of debt and stay out of debt. Them what understands interest earns it, them what don't pay it. Never use credit card debt that you can't pay off at the end of the month.
5. Use debt only for buying a house, for education, and for basic transportation. Don't buy more than you need.
6. Pay yourself first. Save something from every paycheck. Build up an emergency cash fund. Start a Roth IRA. Participate in your company 401(k).
7. Protect yourself from disasters. Buy insurance for your life, car and home. Buy medical insurance. Start with just what you need; enough term insurance to pay for your funeral and burial plot. Increase as your income increases.
8. Find work that will allow you to provide for the necessities for your family and will allow you time for community service.
9. Invest the majority of your "long-term" (more that 5 years) savings in the stock market. It offers the best long term returns available
10. Avoid get rich quick schemes. If it sounds too good to be true it is. Always. If you have doubts, send the scheme to me and I'll tell you if it is legitimate.
