I received my MBA from Columbia Business School in 1978 in Corporate Finance and International Business. I worked with The Chase Manhattan Bank, NA for 14 1/2 years doing international corporate lending. I traded Foreign Exchange in 132 currencies for 5 1/2 years for a large multi-national not-for-profit corporation. I am a Fixed Income Portfolio Manager with very large portfolios and have done that for the last 8 years. I earned a couple of professional certifications along the way. I am a Certified Cash Manager and earned the Chartered Financial Analyst designation from the CFA Institute. The CFA designation is the gold standard in Investment Advisors. Anyway, I've been around the block a few times and know a thing or two about investing.
I want this blog to be interactive. I'll tell you what I think, you tell me what you think or ask a question. I'll try to be as responsive as possible. The discussion can be free wheeling. I generally will not censor entries unless they become crude or get too far off task. But I reserve the right to remove content that violates these few rules. I won't tolerate anything that goes beyond PG-13. So, let's have some fun and make some money. Give feed back and let me know what direction you want this blog to go. I'm going to start by talking about risk. Then I'll talk about diversification. When we have some of the basics out of the way, we'll get into building a portfolio and investing in stocks, bonds, FX and other asset classes.
Remember, Bulls make money, Bears make money, but Hogs get slaughtered.

Welcome Larry!
(Disclosure - Larry is my older, wiser, more knowledgable brother)
People may question why KnowMoreMedia hired my brother as an author to write one of our first blogs. The reason is that:
1. Your qualifications are impecible. You met our definition of an expert in every way.
2. We wanted our first outside authors to be friendly and willing to give us frank and open feedback about the tools we are building and the process and structure of the Know More Media outlet.
3. We have read some of your earlier writing about financial advice and liked your voice and perspective and think it would have value for our readers.
So, as readers, you will have to judge for yourself. Is this a case of nepotism or is it a case where I am related to someone really talented in their area of expertise!
Larry, glad to have you part of our team!
